Anyone want some DVDs? I'm cleaning up, and am using my friends as landfill sites.

28 Days Later - fast zombies in the UK

Atanarjuaat: The Fast Runner - the first feature film entirely in Inuktutut. It's an Inuit period piece - imagine Downton Abbey, but in the high Arctic a thousand years ago. Instead of unintelligible English accents, the cast speaks archaic Inuktutut with unintelligible Thule/Dorset accents. WARNING: Contains scary naked marathon running across Canadian ice flows, and will inspire sympathetic shivvering. Two-disc deluxe edition.

Better Than Chocolate - A young lesbian finds work at an LGBT bookstore (modeled after the famous defender of free speech in Canada, "Little Sisters"), and falls in love with a nomadic artist living in a van. Her mom gets divorced, moves in with her, and discovers the joy of sex toys. Her brother gets seduced by her bi friend, and her trans friend faces discrimation but then finds love. Excellent soundtrack. WARNING: Contains scary Canadian lesbian nude bodypainting.

Brokeback Mountain - gay cowboys, haven't watched it, was given it by the priest I dated years ago.

C.R.A.Z.Y. - Growing up in a large Quebecois family

Empire of the Sun - Steven Spielberg's filming of J.G.Ballard's tale of a British kid during the Japanese invasion of China during WWII.

Manufactured Landscapes - beautiful scenery of factories, waste recycling sites, demolition areas, construction sites, and other scenes from China

Red Planet - expedition to Mars, adventure happens. Val Kilmer, Carrie Anne Moss, Tom Sizemore. French and English soundtracks, contains the version dubbed in Quebec.
