Busy but boring week

At work, we had yet another week-long audit. We paid many thousands of dollars for strangers to poke around our business for a week, confirming that we can reliably build things that go into airplanes. About a quarter of my time is spent having my work audited, or preparing for my work to be audited. A quarter of my time is in meetings explaining my work progress, or preparing for those meetings. And a quarter of my time is doing other people's work for them.

After a hard week, I got home Friday night and was greeted by a sign on my door from my landlord telling me to come to his apartment immediately. He said his internet was broken. After investigating, I found that his printer wasn't working.

Saturday I lazed around outside, eating cherries and reading "A Succession of Bad Days" by Graydon Saunders. A very good, extremely dense book, very well worth reading.

Sandy then invited me over to try out his new barbecue and patio set. His landlord had recently sold her car after breaking up with her girlfriend, so Sandy was using the parking space for a picnic. It was quite pleasant, although the propane ran out before the burgers were cooked. We went for a walk in the park, sat on a bench, and talked, before we hugged and I went home.

I am embarrassed to say that I brought a toothbrush and change of clothes in case things got romantic again. Not going to happen - Sandy clearly views me as a friend, but nothing more.

Sunday, I had planned to go to the gym, but ended up sleeping all day.

Tonight, home by 9 PM, installed my landlord's new printer, and to sleep.
