She of the Mountains - Vivek Shraya. Hindu mythology mixed with growing up gay in Canada. Softcover.

Gay Berlin: Birthplace of a Modern Identity. Robert Beachy. Berlin from the 1850s to the 1930s was a (somewhat) safe zone where LGBTTIQQ2SA culture could develop. Hardcover. 2014.

Giving It Raw: Nearly 30 Years with AIDS. Francisco Ibanez-Carrasco. A gay man heavily influenced by 1980s lesbian identity politics tells about his life in Chile, the US, and Canada while living with AIDS. Softcover.

A Not So Gay World: the frank, inside story of what it is like to be a homosexual in Canada. Published in 1972. Marion Foster and Kent Murray. Slices of life and interviews from LG people more than forty years ago. Hardcover.

The Canadian War on Queers, by Gary Kinsman and Patrizia Gentile. Well-researched book on how the RCMP and CSIS used harassment, blackmail, wiretapping, threats, and violence to hunt down and persecute LGBTTIQQ2SA civil servants and military personnel from the 1950s to the early 21st century. Note: I was interviewed by a CSIS officer about five years ago about my ex, and was appalled by the racism and homophobia shown by the questions.
